We ship plants all smaller grade plants and smaller quantities over New Zealand using a network of couriers. Primarily we use Post Haste and Fastways couriers, and for rural locations this gets passed on and delivered by your Rural Postie or similar contractor.
A carton holds....
50 Standard Size Plants (5cm - 7cm Pot) - or ..
25x Large Grade Plants (9cm Pots - Supertubes)
9x XL Premium Plants (14cm-2l pot)
All shipping rates are per carton. A carton will hold a large number of plants so feel free to combine shipping to minimise shipping charges. Unless advised otherwise we may despatch your order immediately on completion of purchase, therefore please advise immediately if you are considering purchasing other items for combined shipping.
Of course it is fine to mix the grades but this can become reasonably complicated for calculating shipping, please feel free to ask to receive advice.
Special note regarding shipping for XL grade plants:
This item is no problem to ship to any urban address in New Zealand via courier.
Large quantites of these large grade plants are no problem to send via freight directly to most farms.
Small orders will be sent by courier. This may be problematic for the rural postie. Therefore small orders might be left at your nearest rural drop point.
* Please feel free to contact us to discuss shipping large plants to your address.
We aim to pack and despatch orders very swiftly. We despatch twice per day on a morning and afternoon courier. When we despatch your order we will send you a despatch email with tracking info for the courier company who has your items.
Our normal process is to despatch Monday - Friday, although this might mean plants are in transit over the weekend we have found this is not a problem for the quality.
In some cases, such as extreme hot weather, long weekends, or rural addresses we might delay despatch to avoid plants sitting in a depot over a long weekend. Please advise if your order is urgent to avoid any misunderstandings in this regard.
We ship using a 2 day Courier service, allow an extra 1-2 days for rural delivery and rural towns. Please also bear in mind, items scanned later in the afternoon will be collected by the courier the following morning.
What to do if your item is running late:
Use the tracking number from your despatch email to track your item with the courier company. This can be done on the courier website or by phoning the courier company.
If there seems to be a problem please follow up with the courier company ASAP. Contacting the courier company directly is usually the best way to sort out any delivery problems. That way you can talk to them about your specific location etc. This is preferable than us acting as a middle man with this. Often the best result is achieved by ringing your local branch.
If you are unable to resolve your problem with the courier company please contact us immediately and we will be happy to follow up with the courier company.
Shipping rates quoted are for mainland New Zealand addresses (North and South Islands). We deliver to any serviced address in New Zealand. This means any address that has either a courier service or postal service (ie. Rural Postie). Note it is not possible for us to deliver plants to P.O. Boxes and non-serviced addresses.
Waiheke Island is considered an 'Urban' address. For other offshore islands we will freight to the depot of your choice, and you organise transfer to the island.
You can have your plants delivered to your nearest depot. This is useful if you have problems getting items to your address, or it can be useful if you need your plants sooner and want assured delivery in a very tight time frame.
Quality and assurance:
We have been shipping plants for over ten years, and we experience very few problems. Plants will be fine for a surprisingly long time in transit. However, as with any delivery service things can occasionally go wrong, and your plants may not arrive in perfect condition. If this is the case, do not worry, the plants are guaranteed to arrive in perfect condition, if not we will exchange them.
So if your plants are damaged please let us know immediately once they arrive. We will organise for the damaged plants to be picked up and returned to use (at our cost), and we will send replacements.
All we ask is that you water the plants for us while they are waiting to be collected.
