Podocarpus acutifolius - Needle-leaved Totara aka Westland Totara - A shrub or beautiful small tree with narrow, needle-like foliage of yellow-green with bronze new growth.   It has thin, peeling bark that becomes a nice feature over time and slender branches. This is a hardy, evergreen NZ native tree that will grow easily in most locations. Prefers full sun in moist, well drained soil.    Eventually in the wild this will grow up to 15m tall, but it is particularly sought after for the home garden as it is slow growing so will remain small and compact in the garden and requires very little maintenance to keep it a manageable size.  Mature 4m.
