Bring the garden to life with the Super Flower Combo — a collection of hardy New Zealand native shrubs selected for their beautiful flowering displays, contrasting foliage and year-round garden value.

Flowering natives are an excellent way to create a garden that changes naturally through the seasons. Bursts of flowers provide colour and texture amongst evergreen foliage, while the nectar and pollen they produce help support bees, beneficial insects and other pollinators. As flowering gives way to fruit and seed, native plantings can also provide valuable food and shelter for visiting wildlife.

The pack is made up as follows:

• 5x Corokia ‘Sunsplash’ - A colourful native Corokia with fine, wiry branching and attractive variegated foliage splashed with yellow and green. Small star-shaped yellow flowers appear amongst the foliage, adding another layer of seasonal colour and attracting pollinating insects. These can be followed by contrasting berries, extending its ornamental and wildlife value. Naturally twiggy and slightly irregular in habit, it is excellent for mixed borders, informal hedging and colourful native plantings. Mature Height 2 m × Width 1.5 m

• 5x Corokia ‘Geenty’s Green’ - A dense, hardy evergreen Corokia with rich green foliage carried on the characteristic fine, interlacing branches of the genus. In season it produces numerous small, star-shaped yellow flowers, providing a delicate flowering display amongst the foliage. Flowers are followed by colourful fruit, adding another season of interest and providing a potential food source for visiting birds. Excellent as a free-growing shrub or clipped into a dense native hedge. Mature Height 2 m × Width 1.5 m

• 5x Hebe pinguifolia ‘Sutherlandii’ - A compact, dense, and highly popular NZ native shrub, prized for its tidy low-growing form and exceptional hardiness. With very small light blue-green leaves and masses of white flowers from spring through autumn, it is an ideal choice for borders, edging, banks, and low-maintenance landscape designs. Mature Height 50 cm × Width 1 m

• 5x Olearia oleifolia – A hardy, upright New Zealand native shrub with attractive olive-green to grey-green foliage and masses of small white flowers that create a striking display. Tough and adaptable, it is particularly well suited to exposed, windy and dry conditions and makes an excellent structural shrub in native and low-maintenance plantings. Height 1.5 m × Width 1 m.

• 10x Dwarf Toe Toe – Chionochloa flavicans – A graceful, compact native tussock with soft, arching green foliage and elegant drooping flower plumes resembling a miniature toetoe. It adds fine texture and movement to mixed native plantings and performs particularly well in exposed, coastal and dry conditions. Hardy, attractive and easy to maintain. Height 60 cm × Width 80 cm.

Native flowers have benefits extending far beyond their appearance. Nectar and pollen provide food for bees, native insects and other pollinators, while dense evergreen growth creates shelter and protected habitat. Flowers may subsequently develop into fruit or seed, providing additional food resources and encouraging birds and other wildlife into the garden.
