Looking for something a little wild, a little rugged, and a whole lot cool? Meet Tough & Twisted – a handpicked combo of Aotearoa’s most uniquely resilient native plants. This isn’t your average plant pack. It’s a celebration of the twisted trunks, windswept forms, and bold textures that thrive in our harshest landscapes – and look incredible doing it.

A selection of the toughest natives around, chosen for their toughness and ability to withstand most conditons.   Not only is this selection tough as nails, it will also look amazing with the very strong textures, colours and forms that come from being such tough plants.   Contains several 'twisted' varieties of divaricating shrubs that are trending now in designer gardens.

These plants are essentials for any alpine garden, not only for survival but to maintain the uniqueness of our alpine environment.   Also very suitable for coastal, cold, windy, poor soil and dry gardens.   Very suitable for modern landscapes.

The pack is made as follows:

• 20x Mingi Mingi -  Coprosma Propinqua - Stiff bushy shrub, with very small leaves, and interesting divaricating interlacing dark branches. Produces masses of blue/white berries that are very attactive to birds. Very tough withstanding strong winds, cold conditions, coastal and alpine.  Height 2m x Width 80cm

• 20x Corokia Red Wonder - Attractive medium sized colourful shrub with dark green coloured leaves and silvery undersides, contrasting with dark stems. Outstanding colour. Bears masses of red berries very attractive to birds. Hardy, withstanding most conditions. Suitable screen, shelter, hedge or feature. Mature height 2 - 3m

• 20x Olearia Traversii - Chatham Island Ake Ake -  is a very tough and hardy shrubby tree.  Being part of the Olearia family Chatham Island Ake Ake is especially suited for a range of tough conditions such as coastal plantings, alpine situations and anywhere that experiences drought and strong wind.  It has bright green leaves, with white underside. The new stems are also white giving the overall shrub a bright light colour.  The foliage is tough and leathery, ideal for tolerating strong winds.    Mature height 5-8m 

• 20x Coprosma Lobster - A tough colourful and interesting alpine shrub with very tangled bright orange new growth. Bears berries attractive to birds. Can be clipped into an interesting hedge or allowed to grow freely will become a medium sized shrub.

• 20x Golden Tree Daisy - Olearia Solandrii - A nice shrub with small green-yellow leaves. It is good for fast-growing shelter and hedging in dry situations or exposed windy sites. Produces masses of small white flowers in late summer which have a vanilla scent. Very hardy. Mature Height 3m x Width 2m.
